The 2024 Césars are the French film awards that will take place this evening in Paris. Among the films nominated, the big favourites are :
Thomas Cailley’s Le règne animal, which tells the story of a pig farmer who finds himself confronted with the agricultural crisis and the rise of ecology. The film received 12 nominations, including Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor for Vincent Lindon and Best Actress for Laure Calamy.
Anatomie d’une chute by Justine Triet, which follows the trial of a man accused of causing a train accident that left hundreds dead. The film won the Palme d’Or at Cannes and received 11 nominations, including Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor for Raphaël Quenard and Best Actress for Adèle Haenel.
Je verrai toujours vos visages (I’ll Always See Your Faces) by Jeanne Herry explores the relationship between a mother and her daughter who has cancer. The film received 9 nominations, including Best Film, Best Director, Best Actress for Sandrine Kiberlain and Best Emerging Actress for Rebecca Marder.
