The management of the Cannes Film Festival decided to host five women directors, including Moroccan director Asmaa El-Moudir, as part of the residency program for the year 2024.
The program allows hosting female film directors, as well as another male director, in the French capital, Paris, for a period of four and a half months, during which they will be supported by the festival to help them write the script for a second or first feature film for the aforementioned group of directors. The list of beneficiaries also included, in addition to the name of Moroccan Asmaa. Director, the following names: Milts Van Kuele, Diana Cam Van Nguyen from Czechia, Zhao Hao from China, Jessica Genius from Haiti, and Andreja Slaviček from Croatia.
It is noteworthy that in 2024, the participants will present their projects at the Cannes Film Festival next year, which will be held during the period from May 14 to 25, 2024.
